UK tickets that require collection can be printed from self-service ticket machines at any UK station, using the collection reference and a valid bank card. Rail Europe’s current booking-fee policy states that fees range from £2.99 to £6.45 on qualifying journeys of at least £20, although its UK website also states that some UK train travel has no booking fee. For rail-pass holders, a £1.75 per passenger, per route seat-reservation fee applies from 2 February 2026 where applicable. 

Rail Europe Cancellation & Refund Policy 

Rail Europe’s UK train and bus ticket refunds depend on the fare conditions. Advance fares are generally non-refundable, while Anytime and Off-Peak fares can be refunded with a £5 fee deducted per ticket. Refunds can be requested through your Rail Europe account by selecting the journey, reviewing the fare conditions, choosing cancellation options and confirming the refund. The payment card is credited immediately, with the refund appearing in the account within a few days. Non-flexible tickets cannot normally be cancelled, although refunds may be considered for exceptional circumstances such as hospitalisation or bereavement when supporting evidence is provided.
